| European Tidal Port data question: I have UK Tides installed, but there appears to be a lack of tidal port data on the European mainland. Why? |
Answer: Unfortunately, when UK Tides 2010 was first released, there were some issues surrounding copyright. This made it difficult for Meridian to obtain valid data for a number of the tidal ports on the European mainland coast. All of the ports needed for the computation of tidal stream information were included, making any tidal calculations accurate. However, tidal height data has been missing from some of the European ports. Meridian have now obtained permission for use of this data, which is included on the April 2010 release (the production date is stated on the back of the box).
