Author of the Norway cruising guide
Judy Lomax started sailing dinghies in her teens. Between 1989 and 2014, she and her husband David spent 16 summers on their 1985 Beneteau First 345 Cloud Walker (owned from new) sailing in Norway, between the Swedish and the Russian borders and to Svalbard (which they circumnavigated in 2013) and Jan Mayen.
Judy continues to sail Norwegian waters each summer, always researching and updating as she goes. Her Royal Cruising Club Pilotage Foundation book on Norway is now in its fourth edition.
"It is clear that, based on her long association with the country, she has a wonderful understanding of and insight into the Norwegian people, their traditions and way of life as well as of the country’s sea and landscape. This gives any prospective cruiser a genuine feel of what to expect when visiting the country. It’s clearly the number one ‘go-to’ for Norwegian cruising information and … is set to remain that way.” Flying Fish (The Journal of the Ocean Cruising Club).
